Rockpool rambles around Thanet
Rockpool rambles are taking place around Thanet’s coastline for
the whole family during the Easter school holidays.
Organised by the Thanet Coast Project, the rambles will be led
by Captain Crabby and will take you to explore the rockpools and
hunt for sealife. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about the
feeding habits of sealife and do some bird watching.
The sessions are taking place on the following dates and
time:
Monday 7 April 9am West Bay, Westgate (meeting next to the West
Bay Café)
Tuesday 8 April 9am Ramsgate Main Sands (outside Maritime Museum
in harbour)
Wednesday 9 April 9am Joss Bay, Broadstairs (meet at the bottom
of the slope)
Thursday 10 April 10am Minnis Bay, Birchington (meet next to the
tidal pool)
Friday 11 April 10am Margate Main Sands (meet next to the
Nayland Shelter)
Naomi Biggs, Thanet Coast Project Officer, said: “The Rockpool
Rambles are fun ways to find out all about the unique wildlife that
lives along our coastline. Captain Crabby will be leading
expeditions all along the Thanet coastline during the Easter school
holidays and no doubt we’ll be uncovering a wide range of sealife
on our various journeys around the area’s beaches.”
Each session lasts for two hours and under sixteens must be
accompanied by an adult.
