Help your coast and marine environment

There’s a number of ways that you can help around the Thanet Coast.

Volunteering on the Thanet Coast is a leaflet that covers a number of these opportunities.

Thanet Coast (NEKMPA) Warden Scheme – volunteer to adopt a local bay to keep a look out for wildlife and report activities; or volunteer help run Thanet Coast Project’s activities, such as rockpooling, guided walks, surveys, research or other citizen science projects.

Stakeholders – why not represent organisations and local people with an interest in the North East Kent Coast to find ways forward to conserve important habitats and wildlife. Have your say and send in comments to help review the six-yearly management plan for the MPA.

Join in Events – many activities raise awareness of the wildlife and related issues – from Seaweeds & their Secrets, or Geology walks and talks to the popular summer Seashore Safaris to learn about our shorelife.

Help on Practical Tasks – run or join a beach clean, survey beach litter on a beachwatch, or help with the control of invasive species (Coastbusters).

Support local and national initiatives to help conserve our marine & coastal environment – by reducing our impact on bird and marine life by following the Thanet Coastal Codes.

Make a donation – Apart from helping by volunteering, you may prefer to help support the project through a donation and enable us to carry on our work safeguarding our coast and wildlife
