Pacific Oyster Distribution research

In April 2007 an extensive shore based survey was commissioned to record the distribution and abundance of the non-native Pacific Oyster (Magallana gigas) within the inter-tidal zone of the North East Kent European Marine Sites. The project is now into its fifth phase in 2011 – looking at current uptake by the new oysters spats, and also looking at potential control methods.
